My gf is going away to Shanghai on placement for 6 months and I wanna surprise her with a birthday pressie - Yes either a Jap or US DS Lite with Zookeeper and Brain Age as she has become addicted to it.

I think you will only need a travel-plug, I bought an HK PS2 some time ago and it was 220V.

edit: Is it released in China? PA has only JP-models listed, so does Liksang.

I don't think it's out in China yet but I wanna give my gf either a Jap or a US DS Lite in 2 months time just before she pisses off from the UK to SHnaghai for 6 months...

You could always get an USB-charger, it's fairly cheap from both PA and LikSang.

Could do. But surely the charge via USB from her lappy would take longer than normal?

According to the box (I have both USB-charger for GBM, PSP and DS Lite) it uses 3 hours to recharge via USB. I have tested it with the DS Lite and that seems to be correct.
