360 power usage concerns

Seems I've had this problem since buying my console back at launch, but whenever I turn off (or at least assume that I've turned off) the power to the console, I can still hear sound coming from it, as if some part of it is still being accessed.

Is this normal behavior ie the sound of the console powering down or is there a problem with my machine?

Do you have the controller plugged into a play and charge kit as the console fan will slowly run if you do until the controller is fully charged.

Myth is right. If youve got the controller plugged in the power will stay on for a bit. Switch it on then off so that it powers down completely.
