One was for the arcade and 1 for for the home also the MVS carts have a slightly bigger facia to them making it impossible to fit into a home cart slot without the aid of a phantom 1

• Why are they so expensive?

low production run - massive chipsets but at least well over 50% of the games are very reasonably priced and the market nowadays seems to be alot cheaper:

  shin samurai spirits
  fatal fury special
  art of fighting
  art of fighting 2
  nam 75
  even early kof's are now pretty cheap

• Which region to get?

carts wise it doesnt matter, its the home console that sorts out the region - Japanese gives you full blood and bouncyness

• Worth buying overall?

yes - some truely great games, MVS may be the best bet but watch out for bootlegs

• How much is a boxed console?

in super minty condition - mega bucks, if it has a unibios fitted or megamodded - mega bucks, but a decent console set up should set you back about ?100 shipped

Get a consolised MVS set up or buy a supergun with an MVS motherboard. Cheap as chips games.

AES is very nice though - although you stand a chance of poor picture quality, and some of the best games can be expensive.

I have a consolised MVS courtesy of Escape To 88 off here and it is the tits.
