    Swap Magic 3

Im after a swap magic disk + tools for a Japanese V13?(Ceramic Pstwo) i presume the disks are region encoded so i cannot use pal disks?

Any idea where i can get some from?

You'll need to use a set of Jap NTSC Swap Magic discs. The PAL version won't work unfortunately.

If you have a v13 you should be able to use something like Magic Keys 2 (make sure it's v2):

You can buy both from here (but you might get them cheaper elsewhere):

May as well make sure to get the newest too, which I think is v3.6.

Yeah, you're right. 3.6 is the latest version.

Pij - I've also added a link to a page that'll give you a pretty extensive list of cd & dvd games that'll work with Swap Magic (& those that won't).

The page also contains a link to a guide that'll show you how to do a homemade 'mod' if you don't want to buy a set of tools (you'll need to open up your PS2 though). I've done something similar to mine - very easy to do (a 5 min job) & I find it works a lot better than the set of Slim Tools I was originally using. I believe Magic Keys are pretty good though.

3.6 is exactly the same as 3.3 apart from the fact it supports booting .elf files from memory card.

Compatibility for playing the games are exactly the same

Still, that does mean you can throw other game loaders like CDLoader, CogSwapLoader etc onto memory card/USB stick. Useful in it's own right really.

Yeh but if he's after features like that he's better off getting swap magic 3+ Coder which is in fact newer than 3.6

ta for the help guys i ordered a set of disks and the tools from that site, the only problem i have is the tab at the back with the metal piece in place the lid doesnt quite shut properly.

Due to this i think ill open it and stick the button down as its got no warranty anyway.

Yeah the discs work very well & compatability is very high.

It doesn't work with dual layer (dvd9 format) discs though but there are only a handful (GT4, God of War etc.).
