the machine (well not really a machine, more like a bunch of pc bits that'll sit in a bottom drawer with fans and stuff):

the idea is this - i wanna stick hd programs on the hard drive and watch them on the 360, seeing as mce is the only way to achieve this. i'm not interested in transcoding stuff, and the pc will be used remotely with whatever program i can get my grubby mits on (e.g. remote admin, etc), hooked up via ethernet and that's that. i'll probably use it for downloading stuff overnight, too, to keep my laptop safe from overheating.
the minimum specs i read are all to do with actually using the thing as a media center pc - i don't want that, i just want it to serve, but unfortunately i have to use mce cos that's just how it goes. i won't be taking advantage of the tv recording and other bits and bobs, just sharing the stuff over the network for all and sundry.
are there any potential pitfalls i could run into?
