Hacking pads to playstation help please! - Will pay

    Hi all

I love using this PC Sprint Pad on the pc for emulators, in particular for 2d fighting games such as the KOF's. I used to play on this so much, that I actually did go out and buy an AES to play them on years ago.

However I'm rubbish on the AES stick, original and the smaller version and just can't get used to them. I have the ports of the KOF games on the ps2 and bought a Sega Saturn style pad for the PS2 off of a fellow member, Geezer , but it just doesn't feel right ( I know!). I've also just received a new Hori RAP and am buying another off of Nakano for gaming madness when I move next month with my mate, and it feels a lot better and with practice, I'm sure I'll improve.

With that in mind, I'd still like to use my PC Sprint Pad on the PS2.
It uses a standard male 15 pinout for the female pc soundcard gaming port (Hey its old) which can be found here. Its the reverse of the NeoGeo plug which is female, going into a male port, both can be seen in the link above, top-left and top-right. The wiring is different though looking at the configurations of the pc gamepad and a neogeo pinout.

I've scoured the internet but I've not come across anything like this, mainly psx/ps2 pads to PC via usb etc... except for a device on Ebay.com that converts the 15 pin to usb.

Can anyone help me if getting this to work? The model of the pad is JT265 made by Logic 3 and I have the exact same pad but in a see-through shell, model JT266 as a spare. I've even just bought another JT265 off ebay.

The pad has 6 buttons and auto-fire but I don't need that, and it doesn't even have start or select switches, just those crappy slow/hi-speed buttons found on the old Snes pads which paused and unpaused to simulate slow motion, I just need 6 buttons for []X/\O L1 and R1. I'd even do without L1 and R1!

Do we have any tech experts on the forum? I'd be more than willing to pay for your services if anyone could make some sort of adaptor for me to use this on a PS2, like those convertors on likang/play asia or even if you would re-wire the actual pad to have a Playstation connector. I'd supply the pads to sacrifice and I was even thinking about the PSX to NeoGeo convertor from liksang, maybe soldering the PC pads pinout to the pcb in that??

Any suggestions anyone? This pad is like my holy grail for fighting games, even though it looks crap lol

Would a PS2 controller circuit board fit in your Sprint pad?

Judging by the JT266 version which is transparent, I think I could put a playstation pcb in there, but its all about the dpad on my pc pad.

Why were you suggesting I put a ps1 pcb into the shell of the sprint pad? I'd still have to re-wire the pad and my knowledge of how to do that is lacking lol.

Hence why I'm more than willing to pay for this service, or trade a game etc...
