Is there any way to play this widescreen? Picked up a copy today and it looks weird on my widescreen tv with it's big black borders.

Don't think so, the game doesn't support widescreen on the xbox either. When I play it on my 4:3 monitor it even has borders on all sides of the screen . I tried setting it to widescreen which only made the borders at the side bigger.

I'm sure if there was a way my mate would have found it out by now. You best bet is to wait for PES6

Switch it to 480.

Yeah, 480p mode is your only option as it's a non-widescreen game. Unless a game supports 16:9 you'll get 4:3 borders in 720p/1080i mode.
