    VGA Box Question...

I have my 360 connected to my Samsung 711MP LCDTV via vga cable, and will be getting my hands on a PSTwo over the coming days which I will also be rigging up to the same LCDTV.

The big question is, will I be able to get anywhere near the kind of quality my 360 pumps out, from the PS2 if used with a VGA box?

If not, am I better off using a scart or svideo / composite cable for best visuals?

    Thanks for your help.

The PS2 doesn't natively output a vga signal so the image quality through a vga box will be nowhere near what you're getting from your 360.

If your lcd tv has a component input then your best bet is to get a component lead. Failing that rgb scart is the way to go.

The picture quality using a component lead for non prog-scan enabled games (most of them) will be on a par with an rgb scart lead. Those that do support prog scan (only a handful) will give you a noticeably sharper & more detailed picture and the quality will be as close to vga as you'll get.

S-video & composite are lower quality connections & should only really be used as a last resort.

        No worries Simon

I take it your tv doesn't have component inputs?

Before I got my component lead I used to use a Blaze rgb scart lead. Excellent quality & pretty reasonably priced too. This is the fella:
