Like the topic - how do I show file extensions (.avi .wmv etc)?

Go: Start>Control Panel>Folder Options. Then click the 'view' tab and scroll down the list and uncheck "hide extensions for known file types"
(if you have the control panel in 'category view' you go to performance and maitenance where
folder options
in the "see also" box at the side)
