    50Hz vs 60Hz

I have my 360 hooked up to my LCD monitor via the offical VGA cable, which is outputting at 60Hz, and the games I have are fine.

However, if I want to play the Hitman demo, I apparently need to set the console itself to 60Hz by using the originally supplied cable and connecting back up to a TV, as mentioned here - http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/showthread.php?t=60211

As doing this is a major pain for me, I just want to know if by switching the console to 60Hz will prevent me from playing any games that need to console to be set to 50Hz (are there any ?), or can I just do this the once and forget about it ?

    Hope this makes sense.

Once it's done once, it's done.

Do it once an leave it at 60Hz.

60Hz is a requirement for games on the 360, 50Hz is optional. Good job to MS for making the move on this one.

You won't have any issues with 360 software but you may with some Xbox software.

I find it very annoying that some games exhibit this bug (thanks to lazy developers I think?) where even though the dashboard is running in HD 60Hz, the game is still cross-referencing the SD settings.

All games should simply ignore the PAL50/60 settings if the dashboard is set to run in HD. Shame on Microsoft for letting these games (and demos) out in the wild. It continues to cause confusion and frustration across ever single gaming forum I visit and looks to continue that way for the life of the console.

No disrespect to the topic starter, but I for one am sick of what has become a very common issue. FIX IT MS!!!

I thought they might have fixed it in the dashboard update because it now lists the PAL50/60 setting when you highlight the video settings but there's nothing in there to change it. It's an annoying oversight on their part that when it's running in 720p at 60Hz and tells you that it won't run because it's set to 50Hz. I hope it's in the next dash.
