Tesco (of all places) are doing an Acer 1.5gig , 256mb mem, 40gig HDD and wireless 'tinternet for ?399.99 pretty good. I've just got one myself. Ordered 1gig of mem from elsewhere to sup it up a bit, so for just under ?500 i've got a good laptop for Uni work with wireless capabilties, pretty sure it has both types of wireless too.

Dell have a 512mb widescreen wireless 80gb ?400 (inc delivery) one advertised in the Metro today (it's called Inspiron 1300 if you want to have a search), you might need the discount code to get it for ?400, it's NPUK5-N06135

Seems like personal prefence between the two. The Dell is better equiped but has about as much style as an 80's pop video, the acer looks quite smart but falls short power wise.

5% back via Paypal if you register and use the Quidco link (www.quidco.com). Will take a month or two to get, mind.

The Dell Inspiron 1300 actually looks pretty smart in the flesh......I bought one for the ?400 a few months back. Nice spec and copes with what I need it for!

                      Oh and it's a Sony dvd-rw too
