western digital 120 gig from pc world, around ?108 but 90% can be locked and if it cant you can take it back and swap it till you find one that can.

may have come down buy now as that was a few weeks ago and you know how pc parts drop in price.

I'm going to buy an ibm drive for my xbox today, I know that they have a bad reputation but my brother has had a ibm harddrive in his pc for a few months now and its been working perfectly, there only ?70 from scan http://www.scan.co.uk/todayonly/ or simply any way and I think they can be locked as well (I'm going to check now then order it)

Just put a 80gb 5400rpm Western Digital, ?66 including next day delivery from ebuyer, in my Xbox, and it really is the way to go. P of P to fit, and i've easily managed to fit 25 Xbox games, full Mame romset, 900 Genesis roms and 100 Final Burn Roms on it, and have room to spare.

I have put a few IBM 75GXP drives into Xbox's and I have never had any problems reported. Although they do run very hot.

I have moved onto recomending Samsung Spinpoint drives as they will lock without any problems and run cool as well. (I am doing one of these as I type this message)

I got exactly the same drive from ebuyer - although I do regret not getting a 120gig HDD now since my 80gigs are nealry used up.

My brother has gone through at least 4 IBM drives in the last 18 months!

The first couple died and he had them replaced, the replacements dies and he got them changed again, and they all died - so he changed to maxtor's (I think) and they have all been peachy!

My bro did have the drives RAIDed but I don't know if this makes a difference to their life span.

I have one of his first IBM drives, a 30 gig one, which touch wood is ok at the moment, but it does sound quite loud at times!
