Does anyone know where to buy good component cables for the Xbox? Preferably the MS ones or Gamelink monster cables (i heard they were also good). Thanks.

I'm looking for them myself. They're bloody hard to get hold of - especially the Microsoft ones. The cheapest third party one is the generic one over at playasia though it doesn't support dolby digital cables (apparently a fine quality). Otherwise there's the joytech cable at importmadness: http://www.importmadness.co.uk/cgi-b...m_Number=31160
The monster cables are expensive but coming down in price atm.
I've already bought the monster cable myself, but given that you have to shell out for the dolby optical cable as well, I can't recommend it. If I'd known what I know now I would have bought the cheap-as-chips third party one.Last edited by egparadigm; 20-06-2006, 21:30.

If you want I'll sell you my monster cable for ?15 GBP to cut my losses. If you still want it, of course. I've seen an optical cable for $15 USD, but I'm waiting to see if I can get my hands on it as the shop will only post to the USA.Last edited by egparadigm; 20-06-2006, 22:35.

The US site I was going to order my official HD cable from do ship to the UK after all. Only $18.98!
musicrecyclery.com is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, musicrecyclery.com has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!
Presumably it's second hand and I have no idea what the postage is...

Sorry to bump this thread, but I have found some other alternatives as well. I wondered wich is the best of these 3rd party component cables.
As discussed above, there is the Joytech one: http://play.com/Games/Xbox/GENBRW/3-...html#jump-tech
I also found one from 2-tech (site in German): http://www.2-tech.de/index.php?menu=2&l=uk&pid=97
and finally I found this unbranded one: http://www.consoleplus.co.uk/product...tical-av-cable
All 3 have component outputs, 2 analog audio outputs and a digital optical audio output. The joytech gives you the best value imo, since all leads are included. The unbranded one looks exactly like the official MS one, wonder if the black box is good for anything. The 2-tch one is just plain cheap, but doesnt have a digital optical cable included.
I wondered if anyone here has any experience with the cables mentioned above.
