How do I apply DS Lite screen protectors?

OK, I know people tell me trhese aren't needed, but I'm gong to give it a shot since I bought some beforehand anyway.

How do I apply these things? I went through two sets of original DS screen protectors and ended up with air bubbles both times and just ended up taking them off.

Can anyone post 100% idiot proof instructions on what I'm meant to do with these things? Because all the Japanese text inside the cover makes me think there's something I should know before I start!

I know, but just because you bought them doesn't neccesarily mean you have to use them.

I should have added IMHO (sorry), but if you're dead-set on it then good luck!

i really cant understand all this screen protector rubbish especialy with the ds, the design of it means that unless you leave the ds in a bag of gravel and use a rusty nail as a stylus your very unlikely to scratch the screen???

You dont leave your ds in a bag of gravel and use a rusty nail as a stylus do you??

Well, I did get a few scratches on my original DS in just a few days so this time I thought I'd be a bit more prepared. The DS Lite screen seems far more resistant, but all the same it can't hurt.

Like I said... peace of mind

I was planning on getting some for my own Lite which I should be picking up tomorrow. Which did you use Lyris? Any problems - darkened screens, air bubbles etc?

I heard the Hori or Martin Fields are the best to get, can anyone recommend either?

Go with hori they are perfectly clear & theres no adhesive when you tke them off. If you install them carefully there are no air bubbles & they practically look invisible

Make sure you get the official ones from somwhere like play asia & not ebay as i hear that theres fakes going round.

Yeah, mine were Horis. My last DS ones were from some Chinese company and they were a total joke.

I'm very pleased with mine but I do have one slight air bubble on the bottom screen (tiny one near the bottom).

Thanks importaku. Do they not dim the screen at all? - I've seen people complaining about this (not for Hori protectors in particular) and I know this was the case with the GBA protectors I got.

And has anyone actually tried the Martin Fields protectors, they're pricey at ?9 a piece but if they're worth it i'll be happy to pay up.

Sorry to go a bit of topic here.

They haven't dimmed mine at all, no.

Sorry, missed your previous post there, Lyris. But that's all I needed to hear, I think i'm going to go ahead and order the Hori ones then. Thanks for the help.

They are totally crystal clear theres not a single bit of dimming that i can see.

In the official hori pack there should be 2 protectors & a screen cleaning cloth

Seeing as the instructions are in japanese ill tell you which goes where.

The one with the red tab goes on the top screen the one with the white tab goes on the touch screen.

The protectors come sandwiched between 2 layers of plastic. Just peel off the bottom layer of plastic to expose the silicone layer & place on the screen then just hold onto the tab on the upper layer to remove the plastic protector cover.

                              tadaa its now protected.

to remove just use a piece of sticky tape & place in one corner diagonally, then quickly pull the tape diagonally away from the corner of the screen & it should come off. It can be reused again & again.
