Where does code veronica come in the resident evil timeline?

Playing through all the resi's in order but when should i be playing code veronica? From the perspective of the story,not order of release.

After RE2/3, before RE4.

RE3 basically took place at the same time as RE2, so wasn't a real 'sequal' in terms of moving the plot forward. Code Veronica is the direct follow-up to RE2 (and thus, also takes place later than RE3, since RE3 is roughly simultanious with RE2).

I would say play it in this order - RE1->RE2->RE3->CV->RE0->RE4.
I say that because I would say much of RE0 has more relevence to the end user if they're already familiar with the original RE, and likewise RE3 has more relevence if the end user has already played RE2 (dispite RE3 actually beginning slightly earlier than RE2 in the timeline).
Bit like how you watch Star Wars ep 4/5/6 before the new ones.

Play them ALL before RE4, because RE4 is a fresh beginning in terms of game mechanics.

Zero just won't mean much to anyone but someone already familiar with at least the first Resi. RE0 basically tells what happened in the hours before the first RE, and just won't mean much unless you've finished at least the first Resi. Half the point of RE0 will be lost.
