Really want a SNESand am on the cusp of buying one, but am unsure about which one output a RGB signal without mods?

    Super Famicom?

Well i can tell you for sure a jpn sfc will with a pal gamecube rgb lead (official). I think the us snes and the uk snes do to but not sure about leads etc the pal gamecube rgb lead wont out put rgb with a pal snes unless the lead is modified.

The Jr consoles require internal modification to output RGB.

A PAL console outputs an RGB signal without modifying the console, but you need to remove/short the capacitors from a GC RGB lead to make use of it.

Yur best bet would be an original (i.e. not Jr) SFC or US SNES which outputs RGB natively and can be used with a standard GC RGB cable without modification.

I have a PAL SNES connecting up using an official Gamecube Scart lead and the picture seems fine. I didnt know you are supposed to remove the capacitors in the lead - what difference would it make to the picture?
Or have I got a 'special' SNES?
