Will this stepdown work on a xbox 360?

I have a american xbox and I use a stepdown convertor, I am wondering if I can use the same one or whether I should buy a bigger one for an ntsc xbox 360 as I was told my power unit on my xbxo 360 might be damaged if the stepdown isn't good enough

A quick Google indicates that the 360 uses 160w of power; mStation in Aus sell a 250w step-down and Lik-Sang sell a 300w, each listing them as 360 products.

Since the model you mention is listed as 300VA (ie: 300w) you should be ok. I think that your step-down will blow-up or die immediately only if you severely over-load it. Otherwise it might blow a fuse (which is not a problem - a cheap & easy fix) but if it's unfused then I think that overloading it by only a few percent will initially cause it only to get hot; if you ignore the over-heating then you have a problem, so if in doubt keep checking its temperature regularly with your hand.

Oh, and question 4 of the Import FAQ seems to confirm your step-down will be adequate.

Um, yeah, I got one of these today...

(yay! I can finally watch my Panasonic Q power up! It arrived from Japan about 10 days ago and all I've been able to do is dr00l over it so far! But I haven't modded it yet, and don't have any Jap games, either... so still all I can do is dr00l over the Q with its lights on).

...but I don't see how that helps kkhimji2001. If you looked at the page he linked to & looked up his model you'd see he's already got a 300w step-down. And his has more outlet sockets, too!
