BT Just charged me another 25 quid on top of my BB Bill!

Dirty bastards didnt give me any kind of warning and theyve now upped my bill from its normal 50 ish quid to nearly 80 bucks!!!!!

Surely they had to send me some sort of warning about me going over the Dload limit??

there are plenty of "recommend me an ISP" threads tbh, use the search feature, have you phoned BT ? they will be covered for making the charge in their small print but you might get someone feeling generous on the other end of the phone who may give you a partial/full refund.

NTL in your area? Use them, I moved from BT to them to 10 meg service, tbh I download stupid amounts but have never once had a problem. I heard the 10meg is now unmetered, dont know for sure though.

Blueyonder (Telewest) are also very good, we've been using them for six years and have had virtually no problems. Upgraded to their 10 meg service earlier this year and it's fantastic, especially for the online gaming

Glad you got your money back, I use this program to monitor bandwidth, starts on startup, is free and does all you need

Bandwidth Monitor Extreme - keep track of internet and network traffic

(thanks to Mr Ono for recommending it ages ago)

Thanks David ill give that a go, i may need to find something to monitor usage from the router mind you as the 360 will probably be dloading quite a chunk on its own

50 quid is for the phone and everything mind you, its one of those no call cost thingies or something

think it was 30 quid for bb 10 for the phone and 10 line rental

You seriously thought when you hit your limit that BT would cut the line and their helper pixie would phone you to see what you wanted to do about it ? Aye right

Xbox360 gaming packets will be tiny so unless you;re dloading demos/videos it won't matter and even then it tells you their size.

I'm Telewest as well - dynamite service I sometimes grudge paying ?35 but it's top value !!

Have to agree though Cable is the way to go no download limits and 10mb service
