Firefox/website details...

just wondering if anyone can answer me something... you know how you can get firefox/ie/opera to remember log in names and passwords to websites? well how come there are a few seemingly random log-ins and passwords on my pc? it's only used by myself and my girlfriend, so what gives?

is the website holding info wrongly?? i art confused

What do you mean? That some websites dont work and you need to input your password?

If so, then some websites do disable it, A forum I used to use disabled it before as people were using it to their advantage somehow by hacking into others accounts etc.

no i mean when you first go to a website and put in your email/username and password, the browser can store it so you don't need to type it ever again right?

what does it mean when you go to type in your username and it brings up what seems to be somebody else's??

That almost sounds like you're picking up other people's cookies*. Does this happen with a lot of sites or just the odd one or two?

Wait, do you mean other information is actually filled in there, or that it's just starting to recommend something as you type? If it's just recommending it, it means it's a username that's been used somewhere, but not specifically that site.

If you go to options > privacy > passwords > view saved passwords, you'll see everything that has been saved.

it's the auto complete thing i think... although it appears to be bringing up usernames and email addresses neither of us have seen before.

i think somebody breaks into our house to use the internet...
