    42" or 50" HDTV

Whats the difference apart from 8"!

Ok, since i bought my 360 (at launch) and found about HDTV i've been selling, buying less and saving, i'm currently at 1700 pounds, which means i can afford the panny viera 42" however...

My mum bought a samsung 32" a few weeks ago and i had to go back to the shop with her (over charged her) and i saw a samsung model which was 50" and i thought wow, i want that for my games!

I think my room can take a 50" that isn't a problem, i'm just wondering what people with 50 inchers think, i will have the money shortly for the 50" samsung should i go for that..what do you think, would you go for the 50" if money wasn't the issue?

    Thank you

Once you have a screen of that size, you will never want to go back. Ive a friend who bought a 42" plasma a while back, but ever since he has gone on about how he wishes he had the 50" rather than the 42". Beautiful for games and movies alike, personally speaking its a no-brainer.

If u can wait DONT BUY lcd tv now...

I imagine in about 6-12 months the 1080p models can be affordable in reasonable prices ....AND u would have a future proof lcd tv (in case u get a ps3 you can watch Blue Ray discs in FULL 1080p glory)

Imo getting a tv LESS than 1080p is stupid cause there so near of becoming mainstream ...

I u absolutely HAVE to have a tv go for the Amoi 37 lcd tv that supports FULL 1080 p signal in a rediculous price ....search the uk avforum for reviews and opinions.

IF can afford it go for this baby and u wont regret it BELIEVE me

Its going to be mostly for games, i think they only have 720p anyway, so i don't think that's a issue, Thank you though

I have a 50" plasma, it rawks tbh.

As a female, I can honestly say an extra 8 inches would make all the difference

How far away do you sit from these things? I've got a 32" that I sit about 5 feet away from and it seems plenty large enough. I think a 42" would be too large for me. For a 50", 6 feet is the absolute minimum

Problem is 3 grand for 50 inch HDTV is a lot of money to spend. Have you look at HDTV Projector as you can get a much bigger picture on a wall.
