Xbox live using a usb modem

Lo guys,

Im trying to set up xbox live on my xbox but cannot seem to access it, the set up is like this

xbox
switch
My PC
Usb adsl

ive used the network setup wizard to allow pcs to connect to me

but it can only kind of connect, it tries to download an update but ti never starts

what am i doing wrong?

I know when a mate tried to access Xbl through cable by just plugging the cable modem into a hub it didn't work as he had his pc on also so he got a IP Conflict.

My pc will need to be on as the modem is usb and is host powered but u gave me an idea

If your pc needs be on use ICS

If your on xp then its easy, just network card in pc to xbox via crossover cable and enable ICS on that connection

yeah but i dont want to use a x over cable. im sure other people have got this working tis weird

You might have to use the crossover cable mate. I've never been able to get ICS to work satisfactorily using a standard patch cable and a hub. Was forced to buy a router.
