Doubtful that it's a scam, since Dell are a big company and quite reputable. If you want my advice, take advantage. However, try shopping around - www.novatech.co.uk can probably match that on a Blueprint PC, even at normal prices. Dell is usually very expensive, and only worth using for deals such as the one you mentioned.

That's the very same offer that I got for my machine a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't really afford the machine at the time but thought it looked to be a good deal so snapped one up and added a floppy and zip drive.

It's a very nice machine and I'd say worth every penny (the monitor looks really good when connected via DVI). go for it

Last time I checked, Dell were one of the only PC makers turning a profit. There's a reason why HP and Compaq merged.

but if it is as good a deal as it looks, why dont they advertise it? why is th e only way to it thru a "secret code" thing? lol

The deals are often only through the website. More web orders = less people answering phones or opening mail.

Perhaps... but as an ex-Compaq employee, there's a hell of a lot more to it than just that

When I ordered mine recently they quoted 2 weeks from the time of order but it took about a week.
