YPbPr Power Box caused permanent interference

I bought the aformentioned Farmer box after it was recommended on here, and after many days trying to pin down a cause for interference on my TV, I have come to the conclusion that, in part at least, the YPbPr Power box has been responsible for ruining my Official 360 HD component cable. Is this even possible?

I'm not 100% certain it caused it, but I do know I noticed interference around the time of getting it. Basically lines flashing on and off on-screen. It is positively awful with the Digital Noise Reduction turned off, but fairly mild with it on. I have the same issue with the Monster Cables for my Xbox1, but as the prongs are so long I can't plug it directly into the TV without them falling out.

So now I have a 360 cable which will have interference regardless of what it is plugged into. Is there a way to 'earth' it, so to speak?

Just got off the phone to MS. They seem to think it's a problem with the Xbox, so I'm going to send it back to them. It's surprising how easy it is to get a replacement. Admitedly I've had the ring of death and frequent lock-ups, but it seems to me that MS are more concerned to avoid labour costs than actually solve software problems.

Apparently, even if they don't think there's a problem with the machine, they'll replace the unit with a refurb. I suppose it might be because they don't want to keep me waiting.

Anyway, would still like to know if the power box could be responsible for the problem, as I will undoubtedly want to use it when I get my console back.

I've got my 360 (official component cable), Xbox (third party component cable), and my old Sony DVD player (unbranded component cable) all plugged into my Power Box and I haven't had any problems. I've been using it for a few months now too.

I understand that Microsoft no longer replace 360s with new ones, only refurbished ones now.

Ahh, that's interesting. I think it's probably better that way, as you're at least using a machine that's been tested.

As for the Farmer box, I thought maybe it had some static inside it which had transferred to my cables, interfering with the signal.

I have now spoken to Samsung as well and they are apparently willing to look at it/fix the TV without charge. Which is odd, given that the other day I was told I would be charged if they didn't find a fault. So I'll try that first.

My YPbPr Power Box was fine for months, until recently, and now I get intermittent interference across the screen when I'm playing the 360; it's like faint diagonal lines across the screen. It doesn't seem to happen to the other devices that are plugged into it though, which are my Xbox and Sony DVD player.

I get that too but only in 720p, 1080i is fine though. Changed to VGA now though for convenience.

That's interesting, because VGA at 1280x720 suffers banding on some TVs, but only with this setting. It was caused by a change to the timing in the last dash update and I'm now wondering if this affected component's 720p too.
