I've been using Play for years & I've had no trouble, except for my last two orders where they sent me the wrong goods. I ordered the Eagles DVD for my brothers birthday & they sent me Cocktail ! Don't think my brother would've been very impressed with Tom Cruise...

I ordered something about 3 weeks ago from playusa and still haven't got it. To add to the misery i emailed them to ask about it and they said they couldn't do anything until it was 14 days since it was posted even though it had actually been 17 days. All they could suggest is that i phone my local post office to try and find it.

7 pages of orders. And the first was Monty Python and the Holy Grail
I still like Play, but am a bit suspicious when they push their prices up on new releases. It looks to me like price-fixing with Amazon et al.
It's usually the big kids releases like Charlie and the Choc Factory which was set at 15.99 IIRC.
Maybe it's the studios, but I hate it.

Just got a reply from play, basically they said they didn't know what is causing it but that they had heard more people from the Netherlands complain about long shipping times. They also offered to replace the item. So fair enough, I don't blame them and I believe them when they say the problem lies not with them but it's still making me hesitant to place any new orders untill this is solved.

Sorry to have derailed the thread slightly with my interest in what peoples first orders were!
Anyhow I really think it isn't Play's fault that things go missing. Label wise they are the easiest thing ever to tell what they are and to your typical dishonest postman it makes stealing stuff exceptionally easy!
I remember I had to order wait ages to get my series 1 box set of Knight rider because the first 3 got nicked before they even got to me - and then when I did one it was damaged! My brother had to get a replacement sent too so all in all 4 copies were lost forever!
I remember back in the day when EVERYTHING you ordered from Play was sent free, and via recorded delivery - when I had my Knight Rider troubles I did email them about this and asked why did you stop doing this?! They said that they appereciate my comments, but they don't do it because the amount of stuff that makes it through the system fine FAR exceeds the stuff that doesn't! I even suggested that they should let us pay them an extra quid or something to choose recorded and they said it's not going to happen.
To be fair though they do replace stuff well, and they have started using a decentish courier for the more expensive stuff they sell!

06/06/2000 - Three Kings (Region 1 DVD) is my first order (20 pages)
If you have a dishonest postman, report it to local delivery office manager and let them investigate. It couldn't be alway be your postman as it could be one of person who handle the mail on the way.
I don't think it is worth stealing at work, due to losing respects, losing a decent income and job and risk of jail sentnce for a sake of few quids. Most DVD can be earned with a hour wages.

Things is too as my brother once said to me (in jest you understand) when I told him about a colleague who got the sack for stealing something like ?60 from work - 'It's not worth losing your job over such a small amount! If you are going to rob and steal you might as well make it worthwhile and get a decent amount!'
Obviously he was joking but in essence what he says is right - losing a job and everything else that comes with it over a ?20 DVD or something is hardly worth it, but then some people have no idea!
