    Mending Composite cables.

I got a little console from my nephew for repairs, and the wired for yellow composite are damaged (He chewed them up). I am not sure what joint do I need to join the socket for output.

I had a go but it didn't work. (I hate those unscrewable ones as you can't look at it properly)

Sorry, can't help you with the repair, but what console is it? Liksang will do a new cable for most consoles for a couple fo quid.

It is crap kid toys stuff and the cable are joined inside the console case. I haven't got a clue on model. I will have a look inside the case on Thursday.

It is not a game console like Nintendo Gamecube or whatever.

Usually those "100 games in one" things (If thats what it is) use standard composite cables you can buy from any electronics store or ebay. Any help?

Not 100% sure whats going on with it, but if its all chewed up it sounds like it could do with replacing..

If it was me, I'd cut off the phono connector (if it was unsalvageable), strip the wire a little, twist the shielding, and then you get a new yellow phono connector, solder the shielding onto the outer tab, and the actual stripped wire inside onto the tab in the middle..

Is it one of these plug and play jobbys?

If you cant do it yourself, pay the postage both ways, second class and I'll fix it for you for free. Just PM me or something.

I got blue phono connector from maplin as there is no yellow one. (I thought it is use the same connection.)

I need to learn to do this to improve my electrician skills
