    FM06 Problem

    Hey guys,

Trying to download the latest patch for FM06 (422 version 6.0.3) (first time ive tried to do this before and believe it or not first time ive ever tried to download a patch....normally just stick to console gaming you see!)) but keep getting this message popping up when it's literally like a couple of files away from being complete!?

"A sharing violation occured while accessing C:\ProgramFiles\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2006\fm.exe."

Anyone got any ideas whats going on? :/

    ta,
    James.

Installing patch without admin priviledges? Or the game is running/file is in use? All I can think of.

I'm going to be guessing as I don't own the game, but are you running the game and then using an in game option to get the update.

If so, does it give you the option to open file or save file to disk.

If you do, save it to disk then make sure you exit FM06 completely run task manager to make sure the process fm.exe is not running if it is click end process button in the windows task manager CTRL_ALT&DEL. Then run the patch.

Best I can come up with.

BTW, does anyone know how you get access to the Editor Tool Mode? It's says to read the Terms and Conditions etc which I did but I can't seem to continue....I just wanna update a few teams etc....it's alot easier in Pro Evo that's for sure....*sighs*

^^Cheers for that James, (PC gaming=constant patching).

On some T&C pop-ups that are generated by installers that I have used in my time, they try to force you to actually read them. To by pass it just make sure you scroll the text all the way to the end. Once it detects that you have reached the end of the text, it should then give you a continue prompt, hopefully.

That may or may not help.
