360 question, RE: PC monitor and VGA switch

Hi, I wondered if any 360 owners were using their PC monitor for their 360 too?

I've been looking around for some sort of VGA switch, with 2 inputs and one output, so I don't have to keep switching the cables, and can just flick a swtich, but a lot of the reviews of these type of switches report on slight 'ghosting' of the image.

Is anyone using this kind of setup and could recommend a good VGA switch?

I use one of these switches http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Switch-Box-4-W...QQcmdZViewItem
and have no ghosting of similar artifacts.

However, I DID have ghosting when I used a fairly long cable between the switch box and the screen. I now use a 6-inch VGA cable between the switch box and screen, and all is good.
Remeber, keep cable length to a minimum.

      Great, thanks for the info.

I was looking at one like that on dabs.com, but it was a 2-input only and about the same price. Thanks again

I'm having trouble finding a VGA cable that short, can you have any suppliers?

Tried maplin, dabs, eBay, looked on Google too.

They're quite hard to find, I'll post if I find some.

If all else fails, just use as short a cable as you can find. You might need slightly longer to reach the VGA port on the back of your screen anyway. VGA just seems to be really picky over cable lengths in my experience.

Amazingly I just received that exact switchbox in the mail which I bought for the same purpose. I was going to hook it up after reading through the forum posts, but you made me realize I completely forgot I needed a cable from the box to my TV . Just as well though, because I would probably have bought a standard length one, now I'll get the shortest I can find. Thanks for the tip!

I'm using my Belinea 20" jobbie - but as it's got DVI-D and VGA inputs, it's not caused any issues for me. No ghosting, but some games tear to **** - the Dead Rising demo for example.

Interesting, when I use my VGA switcher with PC and DC - the DC picture is fine but not PC as it is slightly ghosty even I use 2 similar cable. I just thought sod it, and plug in DC to HDTV and PC to VGA monitor.
