The definative Tony Hawk game?

I've never really got into the Tony Hawk games but would like to at some point. I just want to know which version to go for - THPS1/2/3/4/THUG and so on.

The best home version and let me know about the handheld ones too please!

Mine are THPS2 and 3, but cant go back to them after playing THAW, as it lacks so many of the extra moves (eg, reverts, spine transfers etc.)

Although if you haven't played any, I'd suggest going for THPS3.

On the PS1, THPS2. Easily. I almost got sucked back in to playing al the way through it a couple of weeks ago. Spent months and months with this game, and certainly one of my top 5.

And my top 5 is what counts.

Plus it's got my name in one of the gap transfers.

Nope, PS2.

If you want to try out 2, best option might be to get the Xbox THPS2X (only released in the US). Has all the levels from 1 & 2 and some extra ones for 2X.

I played THPS2 way too much on the PC. Also played THUG quite a lot, they are both very good

The best version of THPS2 is on the DC.

I'd say 3 is my fave out of all of them. The series sorta lost me after the missions and all that rubbish in underground etc.

I don't think i've ever rinsed a game as much as i did with 3.

My god, not vote for 4? Easily my fav, 3 is v. good too, Anything after that was awful. For the price you can pick them up get both 3 & 4

I enjoyed 2 on the PS most of all - spent numerous hours going for high scores on that one.

I don't think it's definitive, but the TH I've enjoyed the most since then is the DS game - it's really fast & fluid, with some decent terrain.

it has just the right balance of arenas and challenges. with some great unlockable characters. i never got bored of playing it - i can remember the first time i managed to combo my way round the entire LA level, while not the largest it had some of the most difficult transfers

I loved 2, hated 3, loved 4, loved THUG but hated THUG2, haven't played on american wasteland. Personal favourate is Tony hawk's pro skater 4.
