    360 Scart Output, Rather Good

Having just connected my 360 via the official scart cable to my Sony CRT TV, I must say I'm very impressed by the scart output. Seems to be far superior to the PS2 and easily on a par with the fantastic gamecube output.

If I go component on my Sony LCD at 480 or 720 am I really likely to notice much difference ?

Yes, at 720p it will destroy your CRT image, 480p will be much nicer too.

Re your PS2. Did you set it to the right settings in the options i.e. RGB as opposed to composite or component?

Use VGA. It's even better than component in my opinion.

The 360's RGB isn't too bad, but when you play Oblivion on SD and then move up to HD the difference is gigantic. It's cliche to say it but it doesn't stop it from being truth. Your eyes will melt.

Component at 480 you won't really noticed a difference.

At 720p, there will be no going back. It's a HUGE resolution jump.

Do people really think 640x480 on a PC looks the same as 1280x1024?
