You need a router not an adsl modem and router combined.

You want a Netgear WGT624 V3 or higher, this will have a connection for your modem, whether it is cable or DSL, and will do exactly what you want.

Would I be right in thinking that the Netgear DG834G doesn't have WPA-2 support?

If it idoesn't would anyone have any idea of how likely it is to be added in a firmware update?
