If you already have a 64 Athlon your editing should be fine. Maybe more ram is needed, but really things won't get much faster without dedicated hardware.

waiting for dx10 may not be the best option. dx10 games wont fully take advantage of dx10 api till about a year later, thats what happened with dx9. plus your gonna have to upgrade your operating system to vista too, so theres some things to think about.
i wouldnt recomend that card either, it doesnt give good bang for buck. maybe a 7900gtx or x1900xt.Comment

Thats right its 2 processors running at 3.0666 with ht enabled most video programs see them at 4 processors, that 2 gig of ram and a 6800gt is more than enoughYou mentioned twin xeons dvd mike, you mean 2 processors right not a duo core.Comment
