Yes, another stepdown question!

I've already searched past threads but didn't see anything pertaining to my situation.

Basically I have a Japanese PS2 and on the back it says:

100v
47 watts

My stepdown converter says:

240v-115v
100 watts

My question is, would the converter be safe to use with the 100v PS2?

Yes. 100W is substantially larger than 47W. Go for it.

The "not quite 100V" thing is pretty standard.

The converter then "steps down" the voltage from 240 volts to 110 (115) volts.

So the fact my PS2 is rated 100 volts (and my converter only lowers to 115v) shouldn't matter?

If it works in japan then it'll work on your stepdown.Those voltages are just an approximation as fluctuations happen naturally due to the demand going up and down.The exact voltage going to your mains has to be estimated on a daily basis.Worlsd cups and that good old Eastenders Christmas special keep more people emplyed than you may think.

The point is proven in some eastern countries, where this isn't as accurate as say the uk.Most digital clocks take the time from the oscillation in the AC current. If the goes higher or lower than the expected amount, clocks can end up running really fast/really slow.
