Ah. Knew it was possible but didn't realise anything actually did it.

It can't be upgraded to the full functionality of the 60GB version like the Core 360 can, it can't run 1080p (admittedly most of us won't use it, but Sony have been pushing the hell out of it), and, bearing in mind that a lot of what you're paying for with the PS3 is the Blu-Ray functionality, if studios decide to implement the ICT at some point the cheaper PS3 isn't going to be able to play Blu-Rays higher than 480p.

No, the PS3 has a proper HDMI port. For a device to be used in conjunction with HDCP, DVI or HDMI ports must be standard, i.e. Any HDMI or HDMI-to-DVI cable will work with the PS3.

So while no great loss, no I don't think we'll see HDMI on the 360.
That's pretty much the top and bottom of it. The 360 outputs an analogue image like VGA and Component, not a digital one like HDMI, so you'll not see a HMDI port from a 360 unless they physically change the 360. Equally, the quality upgrade from say, VGA to HDMI would be pretty minimal, the real issue starts to arise as is explored in this thread, around DRM and HDCP in the PS3.
