Think I broke my Powerbook :(

I was a bit of plonker last night and managed to knock my Powerbook off my bed and onto the floor. Not a huge drop, and it seemed to work fine for the half hour or so that I used it after that, but when I switched it on this morning it wouldn't go past the initial boot up screen, and the hard drive kept making clicking noises over and over until I switched it off.

I assume I've dislodged / damaged the hard drive, but I really have no knowledge of Mac hardware and how easy it would be to open up and have a look. Does anyone here have any experience of this, or am I better off just getting it looked at by a professional?

It's a 12" G4 model if that makes any difference.

    Cheers,
    VP

You just need a standard 2" hdd to substitute the physical hard drive. I doubt Apple modifies in any way the hdd firmware, but before opening it, try to contact Apple to see how much is going to cost to get the job done. If it's still under warranty it shouldn't be too much.
