    Updating my NVIDIA drivers

Having finally got around to owning a laptop I thought it was time to give Half Life 2 a go. It runs fine but every time I launch it, Steam kindly informs me that my NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600's drivers are out of date, and suggests I download more up to date ones.

Here is my dilemma: The latest 'Go 7 Series' drivers are apparently only designed for the 7800/7900 graphics cards, with no mention of support for my 7600 Go model. I've looked in the driver archive and didn't spot any 7600 Go drivers. Will the aforementioned drivers work with my graphics card? I'm reluctant to try and install them for fear of screwing up my shiny new laptop

I apologise if there is a blindingly obvious solution to this but I'm fairly new to computers!

Im pretty certain they will work fine, all the nvidia drivers are pretty much backwards compatible. Plus you can easily revert to the old ones by booting into safe mode and uninstalling them

If you install the drivers, they will only be installed to compatible hardware.
You can't install the wrong drivers

Ah, they appear to be the wrong ones Thanks for the advice though!

Any idea where the hell I can find one that are compatible with my card? Would have thought it would be more straight forward than this.
