Dreamcast lightgun + VGA adapter + TFT monitor = works?

Topic says it all, really. I'm currently thinking about getting a TFT monitor, and the question whether the Dreamcast lightgun will work with it suddenly popped into my mind. I assume it will, but I guess it's best to make sure.

Sorry, it won't work. The light guns work on the refresh/sync rate of the CRT, and as this isn't the same with a TFT, no light gun joy.

The guns will however work on CRT VGA monitors with the DC VGA box...
