Core2 Dual Core Question

Finished building my new machine, Core2 Extreme X6800 is the CPU.

My first time with a dual core CPU - is dual core always on? I don't need to do anything special?

You need XP Pro afaik before 2 CPUS are recognised, ie- not XP Home edition. Otherwise you're laughing.
Only a few games use the Dual core functions. Oblivion can for instance.

Nah I checked into that, you need XP Pro for multiple CPU's, but multiple cores are fine on XP Home.

Just wanted to make sure I didn't have to specifically 'enable' anything.

Nope. It's on by default.. I've got a 6300 myself, nice and quick ain't they.
