    I need a Mouse! What's best?

Basically I am after a wireless full size model as my current MS mouse seems to have gone titis up on me after only two years.

Is Logitech any good as I may avoid MS for the above reasons?

    Cheers.

I utterly adore the Logitech MediaPlay Cordless mouse.

Discover the innovative world of Logitech United States and shop everything MX, Mechanical Keyboards, Wireless Mice, Webcams, Headsets, Software, and more

Designed for media, but great for games and general usage too.

Feels great, has all the media buttons you need like Play/Pause, FF/RW, Volume, media player etc in convienient places that don't get in the way, 4 way tilt wheel etc...

I'm quite pleased with my wireless Logitech MX1000 laser mouse- it replaced my old Microsoft wireless mouse after I became sick of the laggy response and constant battery replacement. The Logitech mouse is solidly built (if slightly large) and has a recharging station so it's ideal. My only gripe is that the dock needs to be plugged into the mains so it occupies a valuable socket on my power strip.

My last couple of mice have been Logitech mice. I find them really comfortable to use and precise. My old Microsoft Mouse and my Apple mouse both have problems with my desks surface for some reason but the Logitech mice are fine.

              Thanks for the replies guys.

I may go for the Logitech MX1000 as it seems to get good reviews at most sites.

I had nothing but problems with this set, even using various surfaces (including an ice mat) and just returned it recently. It's great when it works, but it has bouts of lagginess.

Having said that, Logitech are the best. I've used their wired mice forever and they're fantastic. The after sales customer support is excellent too.

Personally if you can afford it go for a WACOM tablet. The mouse they use is truly wireless (requires no batteries either; it uses electrical interference to work out where the mouse is in relation to the pad).

I use a (now ancient) Graphire 2 and for gaming and paint programs it's tops. I don't use the pen much, but occasionally in my paint program I'll pick it up for exta precision.

the best mouse technically is either the razer copperhead or the logitech g5/7 which are both super accurate/sensitive

also the mx518 is good too but the dpi is only 1600(not that ANYONE will need more)

also the new creative fatality mouse is out but i havent tried that particular mouse.

Have to say, I wasn't too keen on using the mouse from my A5 Graphire3 - it's solidly made, but I just didn't like the tracking much, or being confined to that area.

I've got a Razer Pro Solutions mouse + pad, and it's way beyond anything I've used before, including my old MX1000 laser mouse. It's basically a Diamondback with an improved light/sensor. (I forget what they use now rather than a red LED)

I love the freedom of a wireless mouse, but you just can't beat the performance of a wired one, which is why I ended up getting the Razer. I went for the Pro Solutions one as it was the only one officially working on Macs at the time, but I'd go for either it, a Diamondback or a Copperhead (supposedly even better) if you can live with a wire.

One thing I would highly recommend is spending the money on one of the Razer pads. I've never liked mouse pads before, as I always thought they got in the way / slipped, but this thing is something else. The mouse glides over effortlessly, and it's practically glued to the desk. It really improved tracking sensitivity too. I know they're expensive, but they're really worth it.

I got a MX1000 in the end. It feels great, nice and solid and is so sensitive I still haven't got used to it yet.

My PC won't recognise it through the PS/2 plug but apart from that I think it was a good purchase.

I got the Logitech G7 recently, best mouse I've ever owned. The battery lasts only a few days, but you get two mobile phone style cartridges that get charged within the receiver.

Can't say I've really used the realtime dpi-switching to any great effect though.

Yeah, I've used this mouse for the last year and love it but plan to get a new one soon. My mate has a wireless Logitech and it feels quite laggy compared to mine, its the same model but just the wireless version. Are all wireless mice like that, if so I wont bother getting wireless as it really annoys me compared to the pin point accuracy of mine already.

But I really want this one:

Doesnt have the dpi switching though which I love on my mouse, useful for alot of games, and it doesnt look like there are back and forward buttons like the MX518 too which is strange, just a scroll wheel on the side too?
