    Fast-forwarding music on XBox?

When I can't be arsed choosing which CD's to play, I use my XBox as a kind of jukebox and have saved loads of tracks into it. Now, some of the stuff I've saved is dance music and it often takes 1-2 minutes to get to the 'good bits'. I just want be able to fast-forward but it seems there is no option to do so.

    Anyone know if you can?

PS: I have the 2002 JSRF/Sega GT bundle XBox with the massive pad, if that makes any difference.

Have it chipped, load up XBMC as mediaplayer and all of your dreams will come true!

I'm eventually going to get a new one and have it chipped from the off (current one is 4 years old and I don't fancy having it chipped then having it conk out not long afterwards.)

But, in the meantime, is there no 'natural' way to fast forward - or is modding it the only way?

No other way, versions really don't matter...

(You could opt for a softmod, it has the same result, but I'd really go for the hardware option, as it's more reliable and less of a fuss)8)

A softmod is just as reliable as a chip, and it's open for argument wether it's more hassle to do a softmod or to open up the console and chip it really. But yeah, get it modded and XBMC will enrich your life.

You could have a look around for that media player and microphone that came out for the xbox a few years back. I recommend softmoding your xbox, it cost me about 30 euro and took about ten minutes.
Have a look at this to see what it involves.

Thanks for all the advice everyone - I'm going to get a new machine in a few months, then have it chip modded (primarily because someone I know knows a guy who can do it cheap and very reliably.) Christ knows why Microsoft never saw fit to include such an obvious option in an MP3 player (???!!!)

PS: captain binman, you mean the XBox Music Mixer? Might check it out as a stopgap.
