Looking for an arcade cabinet I saw in sheffield (England).

I'm lookig for an arcade cabinet I saw in sheffield 2 years ago in a shop called Pizza Metro situated on London Road. It was returned to the original suppliers, "sheffield Amusement Caterers" and sold again before I had a chance to buy it.

Its a black stand up arcade cabinet with a dragon emblem at the front or side of it with 6 button on both sides. It had a Super street fighter 2 PCB inside it at the time.

    any help will be appreciated.

(I'm not able to post in the "ask the forum" forum right now).

2 years ago - might have some job tracking it down then...

If you're based in Sheffield, it might be an idea to check the Yellow pages / Thompsons - I think there may be a couple of places which deal with such things, but otherwise it might be best looking on ebay to get something else similar.

A quick search on Yell.com for Amusement Machines threw up the Amusement Caterers you mentioned and Riverside Leisure. Maybe try the other one? Though it may well be a red herring...

Thanks. I dont think Riverside Leisure sell cabinets or have anything to do with video gaming for that matter.

I've tried pretty much everything. For all I know it could be anywhere up north.

I only want the sticks, kick harness and buttons but I'm willing to buy the entire cabinet if need be. It had the smoothest sticks I've ever used in my life.

I'm based in London. I was visiting a friend of mine when I first saw that particular cabinet.

The cabinet I'm looking for looks very similar to the one above... it probably is the one above but I'm not 100% certain.

Ah OK doke - I was going on Yell.com - not the greatest idea I know

If it's the sticks you're after, might be worth a visit to the Arcade Controls forum. I've been looking into something similar (building my own Mame box thingy) and they seem to know their stuff. You might not get the actual sticks off that machine - but they maybe able to point you at somewhere where you can get some made by the original manufacturer...?

Buttons look pretty standard to me BTW - probably Happs or such. Might be worth a look at http://www.ultimarc.com/controls.html to pick up something very similar.

In fact - they do a stick which looks similar - the Euro Stick (Suzo System 500), same page. Can't see if it has the rubber base on it, but looks quite similar... The description does mention a cowling, I had a quick look through their catalog on www.suzo.com/catalogue.php (you have to get the whole thing, the split up thing doesn't work) and the topfire one does have the same rubber base.

I've had stuff from Ultimarc, I thought it would come from the States - though oddly enough, the slip that came in it is from a London address, on Sheridan Road, Wimbledon. Might be worth giving them a shout since it appears you may not be all that far away from them...

          Hope this helps!

It wont be easy finding the exact sticks. Its a slightly modified version of the euro-stick, a lot smaller and bulkier.

I tried Ultimarc a while ago and few other sites but they dont have what I want. I dont like the Namco or Sanwa sticks people seem to rave about either so I'd probably prefer the entire cab.

Ah OK doke. Sorry if I was teaching granny to suck eggs BTW

I have to respect the hardcore buying specific cabinet-ness too
