Prob with DS cartridge slot

Original DS console.

Cart stopped locking in cartridge slot altogether, now locks in, but has lost the push down-pop out release, i.e., you have to slip your nail in and ease it out manually. Sorry....impossible to describe this without it sounding perverse

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and has any tips before I pull it apart for a look.

Nope, never experienced this problem on a DS or any other device using the same release mechanism. I guess that the spring (or more probebly the small piece of plastic acting as lock/spring) lost its elasticity or came out from one of its housing after too much use.

Thanks mate. Can't be a common problem judging by the number of replies I've had

Will have a look inside and see if there are any random springs or bits of plastic to be found.!
