    Xbox Live Vision/USB hub help

I have a standard USB hub which works with iPod, play & charge etc but as I don't want unsightly wires hanging out the front of my 360 I wanted to plug my Vision camera in too. HOWEVER it doesn't work unless plugged directly into the machine- any idea why this is?

Are there any USB hubs out there that definatly work with the vision camera?

I'm not very clued up about pc's but the manual says you need to use a USB 2.0 port. Is it possible your hub is 1.1 or something?

Have you plugged it into the Hub with nothing else attached? Is it a powered or passive hub?

I'm sure it's a USB 2 hub but I may be wrong, I've tried it with just the camera attatched but it doesn't even recognise it. It's not powered, it's this one (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CONPOX-USB-4-P...ayphotohosting) which may just be USB1 I guess

People are trying to offload USB1 hubs everywhere these days ... in this here office, just the other day, we received a big bag of them as promotional gizmos for some software company.

OK! For those of you having the same problem as me I just went out and bought a ?14.99 USB2 hub from Argos, item number 676/4230 if it's of any help to anyone. It works great by the way! Seems to be working with my 60gig iPod and Vision camera without the power pack, so I don't think there's a need to use that either!

If it was USB 2.0, chances are the fact that it's not powered was the problem. The cam doesn't have a direct power supply because it pulls all of its power from the 360 via USB and if the hub isn't powered then it's not going to get any power. For some reason it can't work without that.

Tried the camera with my pc & it works fine. Believe you can use it with messenger etc.

It requires a usb 2.0 port & XP with Service Pack 2 installed.
