    Best(?) web-page making software

Right, I'm about to start making a web-site, but I'm pretty new to it. Not looking for anything remotely professional, just want some nice simple software that's easy to use. What's your recommendations?

And if I later decide I want to use a fancier one with more features, I assume I could always just load my old page into the new software and go from there, right?

    One word: Dreamweaver.

There are some great (and Dreamweaver compatible) templates here.

Yeah Dreamweaver, follow the excellent built in tutorials and off you go

Seems pretty conclusive - thanks guys! I had tried dreamweaver, and it seemed a little less straightforwards than I'd hoped (not as easy to use as the DTP software I used at school 10+ years ago) but I guess I'll get used to it.

          Cheers for all the replies!

Homesite! Oh no, wait, now it's part of Dreamweaver...BTW, I might suggest an HTML manual so that when you'll look at the code you'll understand what the program wrote.

I don't think I want to understand the code tbh, I've little enough time on my hands as it is and I don't want to start learning HTML, just want to get this done as quickly and easily as possible!

Give NVU a whirl as well, it's basic compared to Dreamweaver but a LOT easier to find your way around. I had a loan of DreamweaverMX for a while but I used about 5% of it's features so decided not to buy in the end. NVU does everything I need quickly and simply.
