    360 Text

Ok, I know, HD and all that. We aren't all rich though, and I'm playing my 360 on the same old ****ty tv that I have been for years, and I can't read the bloody text. Why is it always so small and blurry? Dead Rising has loads of it, and it's basically made it unplayable for me.

Is anyone else having this problem? Surely I'm not in the minority with my old telly? Are there any cheap solutions?

I notice the Lego Star Wars demo has nice bold text, maybe I should just stick to the so-called 'kiddies' games.

yep, it's annoying as hell that they don't consider SDTV users with the text. I play on a 24" Widescreen and from 2m away it's very hard to read any of the writing on Dead Rising.

I also found bet amounts on Texas Hold Em particularly difficult, I generally try and play that on my PC monitor though.

I play on my 25" SD telly which I love and I'm playing in composite which must be making it worse. I'd had to think what some of the text would look like on anything smaller. Battle for Middle Earth 2 was another that had tiny text. Maybe these games should include a text size option? It couldn't be too hard to put that in, the amount of regular TV users must be big enough for it.

It's nothing to do with the X360, but rather the developers not actually testing there games (or not caring) on SD tvs.

It's a known issue with Dead Rising and Capcom had to release a statement about it. It just said that it wouldn't be patched, but to even elicit a response there must have been a lot of complaints.

This is something that needs to be worked on because most people aren't on HDTV. They said a couple of weeks ago that Gears of War was being tested on SDTVs but surely it should be a matter of course.

Id highly recommend picking up the advanced AV cable for your 360, best picture quality without a HDTV. Not sure how good the writing will be on dead rising but when playing PGR 3 the writing is alot clearer.

My PC monitor is so small compared to my TV plus in a completely different room, it'd be fun to test if I already had a VGA cable. I do need an RGB cable but, lazyness, etc.

I can understand not being able to afford a HDTV, but a Scart cable? You can get 'em for ?9.99 o_O

Seriously, it will at the very least reduce the problem, even if it won't solve it.

I have a 29" standard TV and even then the text on Dead Rising is still a problem, but we all know the issues regarding that don`t we?

On xbox.com there is a written responce from Capcom regarding the text problem on DR and there is a posibility I think that there will be a patch released to correct it. They could`ve got away with the text being small though if they had speech aswell. I`ve been playing DR for a while now and completed it numorous times, I just hope that if Capcom do decide to patch it they do it before we are all fed up of the game.

I can`t really afford it but I`m going to end up biting the bullet and buying an extortionately priced LCD TV, purely because of the fact that some games made for the 360 haven`t been made with the poor bastards like me in mind with **** TV`s!

You can get RGB/S-video cables in Tesco for around ?7, I have one and the quality is really good.
