    Lit Pixel on PSP question

    Guys, I've got a pixel-related question I need some help answering. I bought a PSP from HMV, played for a few mins once I got home, didn't notice any dead or lit pixels. I turned off the PSP, then back on again in a few minutes and noticed a green pixel on the screen. I'm guessing this is a lit pixel, rather than a dead one, since its green and I can't see it on all backgrounds (visible on darker ones such as black). I'm fairly sure it wasn't there the first time I powered up the PSP since I would have noticed it I should think, but don't know if it would have been possible for it to have developed out of nowhere either. Anyway, does anyone know what is either Sony's or HMV's policy regarding dead/lit pixels? I'm considering taking it back for them to replace it (or sending it to Sony), but on the other hand maybe I'm just being too fussy?

    At the same time, I don't know if (a) they'll take it back and (b) my chances of getting a psp that won't have this problem, or won't develop this problem in the future.

    Any thoughts? Please?

      Just done a quick google and it looks as though Sony won't honour 'stuck pixels' which your may be. Hope I'm wrong though.

      Got mine in Japan and it had a dead pixel, took it back to the shop the following day and was told all fault's had to be phoned through to Sony via their premium rate line!
      Luckily got mine swapped by Sony and sharpish but mine was a black dead pixel right in the centre of the screen.

      I'd take it back to HMV and see what they say, good luck, hopefully they'll change it for you.

        To be honest with you, we're a little bit skeptical about this one, but apparently some folks are reporting success with fixing the dead stuck pixels on their PSPs using this method (some are reporting failures, too, so obviously YMMV). It's a video file derived from a DVD Best Buy gives their customers to correct dead pixels on LCD TVs by flashing red, green and blue over and over again — so theoretically this is supposed to work anywhere you might be afflicted with a stuck pixel. It runs on all PSP firmware versions, and the advice is to let it go for several hours or more, periodically checking with the white and black test screens to see if the stuck pixels have come unstuck.           Yeah, I started googling right after Ampanman's post and found the same program... took me a while to figure out how to get it on my psp... anyway, am running it on my psp now, will report back tomorrow on any progress.
