Are GameCube controllers region specific? Seem to recall something along those lines back in the day, just wondering if I picked up a Japanese one, if it would work on a UK wii.

I don’t think they were. i bought a Jap GC and AFAI remember they were interchangeable, used on my UK one.

I've used US and PAL controllers on a Q with no problems, and PAL GC controllers on a US Wii.

All Nintendo console controllers are region free the only exception was SNES/SFC I remember certain pads would not work on a different region without them been modded.

All gamecube stuff is def region free even the gba player, only disks are region locked. The pads are fine like everyone said already.
