Help with Prey - The Complex. Glitch in the game!

Okay I'm stuck on level 16: The Complex. I've been transported to a long slimy "room" with a gravity changing console at the end I arrived in and a couple of explodey eggs on the floor. A path runs all the way down the middle to a hole with a platform over it. The hole under the platform has another gravity console in it which does the same thing as the first one. There's a portal way which is unreachable on either gravity setting.

I cracked and checked some walkthroughs which all say the same thing: Roll an egg towards the platform and use it to blow off the goo - this enables the platform to rotate towards the portal when you switch gravity so you can just walk across. I've seen a picture (screen #50) and a video (03:30) of what it's meant to look like. My problem is I tried this already and my platform doesn't look like that - it droops down too much so when I walk across the portal is too high for me to get to. Before switching gravity the platform is actually pointing upwards more than when the goo is still intact.

Is this fixable? Is it a bug? I know it's short but I don't really wanna start from the beginning.

EDIT: Might be saved by AutoSave, it's let me start from the beginning of the level so I'm gonna see if the same thing happens again.

...and it worked that time! Making me look stupid for being stuck on it in the first place Weird though, must have been a glitch as there was no way I would have been able to get through that bit without going back and doing it again.
