BotW Wii U Save conversion - help me with your unpatched Switch

Bit of a longshot this and probably very impractical, but bear with me.

I played Zelda Breath of the Wild on Wii U. I plan to play it on Switch 2 in the near future, but I'd rather not start again from the beginning. There is a save manager that can be used to change the Wii U save file into a Switch save file. But, to do this, you need a modded Wii U (which I can do easily enough) and a modded Switch (my Switch is too new to be modded short of installing a mod chip).

Early Switches can be modded without chipping or hard-modding them. There are websites to check if the machine is "unpatched". So, I was wondering if anyone can help me transfer my save file from my Wii U onto my unmodded Switch via a (your) modded Switch?

I'd be willing to pay a small amount for your time. I guess this would need to be done face to face and I'm based in Bristol, so proximity may be important.

I am currently trying to procure an unpatched Switch, which is a little annoying whilst trying to keep the cost down…

In prep for this I have modded my Wii U and converted the save file to Switch format. I’d like to test it works.

Is anyone out there able and willing to try my save file on their modded Switch so I know it works?

One potential pitfall is that the Wii U max version is lower than the Switch version, but I understand the two are interoperable. Fingers crossed!

Didn't even know that it was possible to convert WiiU BOTW save data to Switch BOTW save data!

Would love to be able to do this as it would save me replaying from the start but I don't think I can be arsed.

I'm assuming somebody somewhere has been clever enough to make a computer app/program that make this process easier??

And the excellent and amazingly straightforward Modmii to mod my Wii U.

I bought an unpatched Switch the other day which I’m now waiting on, as well as the little shim thing you need to plug into the rail so you can softmod Switch.

I will report back if I am successful.

Sadly not. 👎🏻

Soft modding is the only way.
