    Best Xvid/DivX to WMV convertor?

To use with the 360's new streaming capabilities, what program would you recommend for encoding media files to WMV?

WinAVI, well worth buying the license if you are not a cheeky keygen fiend!

No idea if it's any good compared to purchase stuff, but windows movie maker will convert any video to wmv. It's free with windows. I use it for all the vids on this website.

I use flip4mac at work. It can convert any quicktime file to wmv. You can even play wmv files through quicktime movie player. Pretty good piece of software only costs about ?30 aswell.

          This is the address http://www.flip4mac.com/

For the record I've tried Windows media encoder for this exact purpose and it worked FANTASTICALLY. As long as you have "ffdshow" installed and tell WM Encoder to keep the same aspect ratio, I noticed no quality loss at all.

Can I just add that after a problem with WME today, I tried the full version of winAVI and it is BRILLIANT. An absolute must!

Have you had a look at Visual Hub, it should do the job.

Every program I've tried to use to do this has crashed or rebooted my PC before it's finished. I thought maybe it was my gfx card so I took it out and tried with the onboard graphics, same thing happened. It's not the end of the world but I've been downloading a lot of anime and it'd be nice not to have to watch it in my bedroom.
