In anticipation of getting a Wii, where is the best place to buy SD Cards. The bigger the memory for the least money would be great .

Haven't looked myself, but ebuyer.co.uk are usually cheap as chips for these sort of things.

Don't just think bigger, think faster too.
Sandisk ultra mega zoom uber wiked 3000 (or whatever). I noticed a huge leap going from a normal SD card to a high speed one.

Oh and I use that mymemory place.

            ultra III:

            ultra II:

I got the ultra II which was way faster than a standard one, but that ultraIII will be the next on my purchase list.

Hmm, I'm gonna hang fire on buying an SD for the Wii. I think it will be a while until the internal memory gets filled up and by that time they will have got even cheaper.

Yeah I noticed some1 on the bargains thread posted a link to a cheap 2 gig sd card on play.com.

Sorry for my ignorance, but are these SD memory cards definatley usable with the Wii?
The wii has got a small built-in memory so I assume these SD cards are so u can add more memory for game saves & downloads yes?

I'd like to know because I got a Wii on preorder & just need 1 the day I get it. Let me know okay people!!

I don't think you'll NEED one the day you get it. The Wii's internal memory is 512mb and virtual console games are gonna be fairly small (prob simular to ROM size) so there isn't much risk of filling it up straight off the bat.

Also it hasn't even been confirmed that you'll be able to save VC games onto SD, although it's pretty likely. Personally, I'd recomend waiting at least until after magazines/websites have their hands on the final units and can give us the nod on SD compatibility. SD cards are only gonna get cheaper...

Avoid Ebay for memory cards though. Too Many fakes.

7dayshop do some good cheap ones but if you want a branded one look at mymemory.co.uk

This is an absolute bargain. I bought one of these for my Play-Yan Micro about 6 months ago and paid 40 quid for it. Basically, it's a pretty fast SD card with a built in USB2 interface, which is really handy if you're out and about (or at work perhaps) and don't have an SD reader/writer. You just flip the USB device out and plop it into your USB slot!

                          All that for 17.99!
